Viscount Seat
Probably the second best saddle in a two horse race. They can be very comfortable in relative terms but sometimes you feel like you're sitting on a brick.
|
Strengths
They come with a tough cover that should last through normal riding.
You can get them in a choice of colours - the red ones make you go faster ;-)
The cover can be removed and the padding replaced with a 12" inner tube to make an air seat.
Weaknesses
The plastic bumpers are known to break or simply fall off.
The amount of padding you get seems to vary from the comfort offered by sitting on a brick to sitting on a squidgy brick.
There's no handle at the front which makes hopping not quite as easy. The lack of a handle means that, after extended use, I end up with sore and stiff fingers from having to grip tight on the front of the seat while hopping. The plus side to this is that I now have a very muscly third finger on my left hand!
Overall
The Viscount seat is the standard saddle that comes with the majority of mid priced unicycles - my Pashley MUni, DM Ringmaster and Coker all came with one of these.
The Viscounts are not at all bad it's just there's better out there. In my humble opinion all I can say is get a Miyata if you can.
