AXO Dually Boots

Quality three quarter Hi-Top boots with a grippy flat sole and ankle support.

Strengths

The overall quality of these boots is high. They feel like they should last for ages.

The high top design gives good support to your ankles. This support can be increased with the addition of the supplied removable velcro fastening sock.

The sole gives good grip and is rigid yet flexible enough for riding.

The laces supplied are just the right length. This may not sound hugely important but a number of other boots come with laces that are way too long and need tucking in so they don't wrap around the pedal and crank as you ride which is important ;-)

Weaknesses

The sole is probably just too stif for freestyle riding.

Overall

When I was looking for a pair of riding boots to stop myself catching my ankle bones on the ends of the axle Kris Holm came to the rescue and recommended these - he wore these in most of UNiVERsE. They have been designed for riding and it shows in the design. They offer great support, grip and are really well made.

They probably aren't much use for freestyle riding as you'll find other foot wear that gives more feeling to your feet through the sole. For Muni and trials riding though, the slightly stiffer sole is a real boost giving a little extra power for your pedaling.

The removable ankle supports seem pretty good although I'm not too sure how long they'll last if frequently taken in and out of the boot - they are held in place by a strip of velcro running down the back of the ankle and this might start to come loose given time. We'll see.

Overall a really great boot that's made for the job and look good even when you're not riding
